Keydoo
keydoo is an application that aims to teach music to children in a less theoretical way. The app focuses on an experience focused on the recognition of instruments and their respective role in composing a song.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Children find it difficult to understand music as a set of instruments because their ears have not been trained to do so.

3
Child listen to a song.
They can understand basic rhythms.
They see music as a solid block instead of a set of sounds.
Pain Points
It is difficult for children to get a sense of all the layers that make up a song. They have no idea which instrument is responsible for each sound. This can be a good form of musical initiation, without being theoretical. Also, without training, it is really hard to differentiate some sounds, even if you study musical theory.
Sketches, Wireframes, UX Flow Diagrams
The application is really straight forward. It is possible to see the main flow below. This flow has not changed much since the beginning of the project. However, it was a journey until I was satisfied with the look.

Initial tests for visuals.
User Testing Process and Findings
After some user testings, several points of improvement were found. The major points were:
COLORS
BUTTONS
SOUND
Color should be more protagonist and be always associated with the “same instrument”.
Mute and Solo buttons were confusing and not necessary.
The prototype only makes sense and it has music.
FINAL PRODUCT
This is a demonstration of how the final product works.
